Write for us
We welcome pitches that help general readers examine how news is framed, sourced, supported or placed in context. Send proposals through the Contact page, with enough detail for us to understand the idea.
What we welcome
Pitch an original, focused piece that explains one news-reading question in a useful way. We are interested in clear comparisons, careful explanations, background pieces and reader habits that can be used across many subjects. Avoid turning a pitch into a verdict about a current dispute.
What makes a strong pitch
Tell us the central question, the reader it serves, the main point you would make and how you would support it. Show why the idea belongs in Trusted News Journal, note any important uncertainties, and disclose relevant interests or relationships.
Before you send
Proposals are sent through the Contact page. Choose the editorial question option and include a short outline; a complete draft is not needed for an initial pitch. Please do not include confidential information or material you are not entitled to share.
Careful reading makes room for better questions
We help readers pause, trace a claim to its support and notice what remains unclear. Understanding a story begins with curiosity, not instant certainty.
